Roy Erasmus, RPCC, LLB, MBA

Therapist, Certified Life Coach

Jean Erasmus is Dene and Cree originally from Fort Chipewyan and now makes Yellowknife her home.

As a child, she was fortunate enough to experience living on the land with her family.  She later spent 6 years in Indian Residential Schools (IRS) and is a third-generation survivor. Jean began her personal healing when she was a teenage mom.

Many people have said that Jean is kind, unassuming and approachable, which helps her to connect with people. She is also a resilient woman with a lot of compassion. She is passionate about her work with Indigenous people with whom she has worked for over thirty years.

Jean earned her designation as a Registered Professional Counsellor and is a member of the Canadian Professional Counsellors Assoociation.  She is able to draw from her skill set and life experiences to help people with their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being.  As a Certified Life Coach, Jean can also help them build healthier relationships and reach personal goals.

Indigenous Services Canada has designated Jean to provide therapeutic services for Residential School Survivors and their families in the Yellowknife area.

Her vision is to help people become aware of unhealthy behaviours and find solutions towards change.

Roy Erasmus is a father, a grandfather, a counselor and a life coach. He is also a lawyer with a Masters in Business Administration (MBA).

His extensive experience includes being a land claims negotiator, an MLA and having a successful career as a senior manager for Indigenous organizations and government.

Roy likes to focus on what is possible, not what is impossible. He is a Dene person who enjoys working with other Indigenous people who are ready to work towards reaching their dreams.

As a recovering alcoholic, who has been clean and sober for over thirty years, Roy believes everybody has the strength and resources to overcome challenges; they may just need a little bit of help to “go for it.”

After surviving heart disease, Roy decided to become a counselor and life coach, so he went to Rhodes Wellness College to receive training and work on his physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being.

Roy is a Registered Professional Counselor Candidate (RPCC) with the Canadian Professional Counsellor’s Association (CPCA), and he is ready to draw on his varied experiences and therapeutic techniques to help people overcome any limiting beliefs and to attain their goals.
